Following previous success DTR Medical have attended their seventh Annual BSCCP conference this month. The 3-day event took place at Cardiff City Stadium where over 400 delegates attended to discuss a wide range of colposcopy-related topics.
DTR Medical used the conference as an opportunity to showcase their award winning Gynaecology product range which now includes the brand new Cervical Rotating Biopsy Punch featuring a Low Profile Jaw allowing better access to the Transformation Zone. Also demonstrated was the LLETZlearn® Training Simulator, which has been designed in conjunction with LLETZlearn®, to provide excellence in Colposcopy training.
The new additions to the range proved a hit amongst the delegates who were happy to share their thoughts;
“The Cervical Rotating Biopsy Punch is so good I couldn’t run the clinic without it!” Mr Amar Chandock, Heart of England Trust.
“The potential of the LLETZlearn® training simulator is that the trainee colposcopist can become much more confident and comfortable in a non-threatening environment; learn the manual dexterity skills before they approach a patient.” Dr Grainne Flannelly, National Maternity Hospital, Dublin.
“The Cervical Rotating Biopsy Punch has transformed colposcopy practice for my clinic in that I’m getting biopsies first time – therefore less patient discomfort. The all-round experience for the patient in my opinion, is improved. The pathologists commented that there are fewer inadequate biopsies.” Partha Sengupta, University Hospital of North Durham.
It is clear that the improved Cervical Rotating Biopsy Punch is a welcome addition to the world of Colposcopy. The newly shaped jaw allows closer access to the cervix and as a Single-use instrument has a sharper cut resulting in a better biopsy. As the LLETZlearn® Training Simulator mimics real life procedures, it improves skills and eliminates patient risk therefore advancing staff training.
