Award winning manufacturers of Sterile Single-use surgical instruments DTR Medical attended their 12th Medica Trade Fair this year in Düsseldorf, Germany exhibiting once again on the Welsh Government pavilion.

As one of our highlights of the year Medica 2017 was another success and delivered an excellent opportunity to meet with both our existing distributors and potentially new business opportunities from across the globe.

Being the world’s largest medical trade fair, Medica is always a great chance to showcase our latest developments. This year our stand was headlined by the introduction of a new Dermatology range, which includes products that offer first-time sharpness and precision such as Gillies Skin Hooks and Skin Biopsy Packs.

Ed Casey, Export Manager stated “Medica has definitely been a highlight of 2017 for us, providing an extra opportunity to connect with our existing distributor network, to introduce our new Dermatology range and solidify future plans.  We also used the event to connect with potential new distributors across emerging markets and look forward to developing these relationships throughout 2018.”

We also launched new instruments in ENT, such as the House Curette, used for a quick and efficient removal of tough cortical bone. In Gynaecology, we responded to customer requirements for a XXL Metal Cusco, which is longer than traditional sizes, and has smooth edges in order to improve patient comfort for use when examining post-menopausal women.

The Ophthalmology range continues to develop with a brand new Double Ended Punctum Dilator with polished tips to reduce patient trauma. Each of the new additions received fantastic feedback from our distributors and other visitors alike.

Managing Director Andrew Davidson said, “Innovation, coupled with high quality and strong service are the key factors that generate the success of each Medica the company attends”.

We will continue to develop customer leads and relationships achieved at Medica 2017, as we continue to innovate and grow year on year.

Working closely with leading healthcare professionals DTR Medical have been able to continually deliver high quality Single-use instruments that remove the risks associated with re-usable alternatives such as cross contamination between surgeries. By moving to Single-use, hospitals and clinics can experience the benefits that save Time, Lives and Cost.
