18th October 2019

On Friday 18th the DTR Medical team took part in Wear It Pink 2019 for the third consecutive year. In the UK a total of £33 million has been raised since 2002 to support Breast Cancer Research.  Discovering how to prevent the disease, detect it earlier and treat it effectively at every stage in order to prevent the condition from taking lives.

We celebrated this occasion by undertaking a wide range of ‘Pink’ activities over the course of the day. The DTR Medical cake sale was the main fundraising event with various departments doing their bit by bringing in everything from pulled pork rolls, marshmallow Rice Krispie Cakes and even a four tier Victoria Sponge Cake! A raffle also took place on Friday, with a variety of different hampers up for grabs. Further to this, a handful of people faced the ‘Chubby Bunny Challenge’ where Sammy and Anne came out victorious by fitting the greatest number of marshmallows in their mouth.

This year we managed to raise a grand total of £200 for this amazing cause and hope that every bit of money raised by DTR Medical will help individuals across the UK affected by breast cancer. A special thanks must be given to anyone that helped organise the ‘Pink’ activities, the day wouldn’t have been the same without your help!

“It was amazing to see how much support the day received from everyone at DTR Medical last Friday! Everyone did their part by bringing in cakes, sausage rolls and prizes for the ‘Pink’ raffle.  This is an incredible charity and I hope the money raised really helps those in the UK affected by breast cancer.” Kayley Marsh, Customer Service
