As part of our ongoing commitment to provide high-quality Single-use surgical instruments we are delighted to be able to support The West African College of Surgeons (WACS) Surgical Outreach taking place in Monrovia, Liberia.
The annual Surgical Outreach (which takes place before the WACS 62nd Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference) involves volunteers from across the UK and West African subregions providing free operations to 100-200 patients each year, a fantastic cause which we are delighted to be supporting with our Single-use ENT/Maxfax instruments which have been donated.
“It is a pleasure and privilege to join members of WACS (UK) and colleagues in West Africa on the 2022 pre-conference outreach of the West African College of Surgeons in Liberia, Monrovia. The West African College of Surgeons holds an annual pre-conference surgical outreach, and I have been privileged to be part of this programme for the last 11 years, where 100 – 200 patients get operated on for free every year. This will be my second trip to Liberia, where there is no ENT surgeon to date. I have just spoken to a colleague in Liberia, and I am pleased to learn that two Liberian doctors are currently training to be specialist ENT surgeons.
I am profoundly grateful to medical consumables and equipment donors over the years, one of which is DTR medical. They have donated medical consumables for use in ENT clinics. Only 20% of ENT patients need an operation, so medical consumables to see patients in the clinic are always very welcome.”
