July saw two of DTR Medical’s employees, Edward Sheppard and Ffyon Owens, graduate from Swansea University.
Edward graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Business Management with a year in industry on the 24th July 2019. On his return to DTR Medical after undertaking a placement year here, Edward re-joins the company in a new position, Marketing Coordinator
Ffyon also graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in BEng Mechanical Engineering on the 25th July 2019. After joining the company in late September 2018, Ffyon has been working within our New Product Development department as a Graduate Product Engineer.
DTR Medical continually strives to engage with industry, working alongside UK universities to consistently provide placement opportunities to students. Since 2011, the company has been running its internship program, a total of 15 Engineering students and 6 Marketing students have played a huge role in DTR Medical’s growth so far. With 4 of these students returning to the company to adopt post graduate roles the company is very proud of the opportunities that it provides.
“During my time at DTR Medical as a placement student I learned invaluable skills and experience. After such a successful year in industry with the company, I could not turn down an opportunity to return and help the Marketing department grow. On returning to my final year of university I was able to increase my overall mark by 10% and was delighted to attain a First Class Honours Degree, something I do not believe would have been possible without my placement. I would like to thank both DTR Medical and Swansea University for their continued support.” Edward Sheppard, Marketing Coordinator
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at DTR Medical since joining in late September. After graduating with a First Class Honours Degree from Swansea University I felt I was ready to adopt the role as a Graduate Product Engineer. In the past year I have enjoyed the challenging aspects of the job and gain great satisfaction from the role I play in moving the company forward.” Ffyon Owens, Graduate Product Engineer
