DTR Medical, an award winning British manufacture of sterile single-use instruments has been visiting MEDICA Düsseldorf every year since the founding of the company in 2005.

Managing Director, Andrew Davidson, says that Medica is a place where DTR Medical engage with their distribution partners and as the peak of their marketing activity, set the agenda for the following year.

“Medica is an international stage for us to launch new products, this year we introduced new instruments throughout our range of ENT/MAXFAX, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology and General Surgery. As a result, we had more than 90 meetings with customers, distributors, suppliers and other interested parties; sometimes even three meetings in parallel.”

DTR Medical are expanding into many countries and employ 39 staff at their facility in Swansea, South Wales but plan to recruit three new employees every year to achieve steady international growth.

Each year DTR Medical join the Welsh Trade Mission and exhibit on its pavilion. Davidson says that the combination of exhibition and meeting space provided by the Welsh Government team is excellent and always works well: “The infrastructure is there; we don’t have to worry about a thing. As a result of the support we have received in the 10 years we have been involved, we can see a considerable return in value which contributes to our future plans.”
