DTR Medical awards young talent for research into Colorectal Cancer at Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh All Wales Medical Student Surgical Research Symposium

Hosted by Mr Steven Backhouse (ENT Consultant, Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend), the 4th Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) Surgical Research Symposium welcomed entrants to submit abstracts, posters and conduct presentations on a chosen surgical research focus.

Clare Brown (pictured above) was awarded the DTR Medical ‘Technology, Innovation and Design’ award for her research on “Cell-mediated Immune Recognition of Carcinoembryonic Antigen is Associated with Early Tumour Recurrence Following Resection of Colorectal Cancer”. Competing against nearly 60 entrants in the poster presentations, her submission epitomised DTR Medical’s focus on the research and development behind their range of products.

As a proud sponsor, DTR Medical attended the event and displayed a select range of their sterile single use instruments for the perusal of attendees on the day.
