DTR Medical have sponsored the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) All Wales Medical and Dental symposium since 2012 and were delighted to attend the 2nd RCSEd Wales Surgical-Team Conference at The Orangery in Margam Country Park 20th October.

The morning conference hosted a series of lectures discussing topics including Workplace Solutions for Unprofessional Behaviours, Training, and Quality Improvement.

During the afternoon symposium, there was an opportunity for students to join the faculty and share their experience and findings via oral and poster presentations. The event also provided a great opportunity for all attendees (previously >120) to network and receive valuable feedback from experts within the surgical and research fields in Wales.

We were pleased to award Lawrence Pugh our DTR Medical ‘Innovation & Design Trophy 2017’ for his Re-Audit of Perioperative Hypothermia in the Obstetric Unit, UHW, Cardiff: Are Inditherm Mattresses Effective?

The conference was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our wide range of Single-use instruments and our innovative products such as the Clearway Suction Handle which was well received, with consultants interested in the time and cost saving elements of the instrument.

This year’s event was another great success attracting members and affiliates from across Wales with interest created, leads generated and a day full of excellent speeches that had the attendees captivated.

Steven Backhouse, ENT Consultant & RCSEd Director (ANG) thanked us for our continued support of both RCSEd’s Wales national events, “Your sponsorship and DTR Medical Innovation & Design Trophy adds immeasurable value to the event for all attendees”.
