Hosted by MediWales, the national UKHealthTech conference and MediWales awards dinner provided a fitting stage for a number of Keynote Speakers and industry experts in Cardiff, namely Professor Keith Harding CBE (Director of the Wound Healing Research Unit), Professor Val Edwards-Jones (Professor of Medical Microbiology, MMU) and winner of ‘The Apprentice’ 2011, Tom Pellereau.

David Sissling (Chief Executive of NHS Wales) was also in attendance, where proceedings began with a variety of plenary sessions, presentations and seminars concerning the Life Sciences Sector. DTR Medical Managing Director, Andrew Davidson took the opportunity to chair a ‘Health Research Wales’ seminar outlining the positive collaborations and Industry access to the NHS and Academia that HRW has helped facilitate since its launch this year.

The national conference marks an important occasion in the year for all involved in the Life Sciences Sector in Wales, offering a chance for reflection upon the great progress and contribution made by all the companies in the sector and the growing contribution to improving healthcare around the world.
